Chicken House is one of the UK's most exciting children's book publishers. Set up in 2000 by Barry Cunningham (the man who discovered J.K. Rowling), it has quickly grown in size and reputation, launching the careers of many exciting new authors, and selling millions of book by international bestsellers, including Cornelia Funke and James Dashner, whose Maze Runner series is also thrilling audiences worldwide through it's film adaptations.
With a growing consumer awareness of it's authors and brands, along with its partnership with The Times newspaper for an annual Times/Chicken House Children's Fiction Competition, traffic to the publisher's website has been increasing rapidly. With this in mind, MoonAge was asked to look at giving the site an overhaul, so as to freshen up its design and layout and offer an overall improved user experience, regardless of the browser of device it is viewed from. An increased focus on the books and authors was a key priority, and interactive elements and recommendations were included to encourage consumers to explore more of the site. A fun and informative blogging element was also added to allow the Chicken House team to regularly update users on all the latest news.
For this project, MoonAge collaborated with Simon Wilkes and Helen Crawford-White.
